Edik Ghabuzyan

Edik Ghabuzyan (*1952) has been working on creating about 300 Armenian fonts since 1987. In 2004 his Armenian Fonts Album was published. His typefaces were displayed at the exhibitions in Lincoln, London, Hampshire, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Munich, Alexandria, Yerevan and Oshakan. His articles about Armenian type design art have been published in different magazines and he has made speeches on this theme in different international conferences and symposiums. Two of his fonts Mariam and Grapalat have been adopted by the government of the Republic of Armenia as official fonts for State offices. Edik Ghabuzyan was an initiator and a founder of the International Type Design competition: Granshan and now is a co-head of the org. committee and jury board of the competition. He currently works for the National Book Chamber of Armenia as Head of the Department of Creating and Saving Armenian Fonts, teaches type design in the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia.
